Sweet and Savory Easter Ham
It’s not Easter without a ham! This is an Apple Cider and Balsamic Glazed Spiraled Ham, to add a delicious sweet and savory twist to your typical holiday ham. I baked apples and onions with the ham, and while that’s baking, combine the vinegars with brown sugar to form a glaze. Glaze the ham, then pop it back in the oven until a nice caramelized crust forms.
If you have leftover ham you can make easy ham sliders, great with lettuce and tomato and honey mustard – or cook it up for breakfast with eggs and fruit.
If you shop on Wednesdays, ALDI offers Weekly Fresh Meat Specials where you can find extra-low prices on the best cuts of meats.
Side Dishes to Decorate Your Table with Color
This savory carrot cake bruschetta makes a great savory side dish with caramelized carrots and a savory cream cheese spread served on ALDI Specialty Selected French baguette.
For nice grill marks, brush baguette slices with olive oil, and grill for 2 minutes on each side. (This is worth the step!) Add a layer of creamy spread, followed by the glazed carrots.
To finish it, I used Southern Grove sliced almonds in this bruschetta for a crunchy garnish, along with parsley.
You can find several varieties of Southern Grove nuts, including walnuts and pecans at an ALDI near you.
This snap pea salad with deviled egg vinaigrette tastes like spring in a bowl! The salad is loaded with vibrant sweetness and crunch from the veggies with a creamy vinaigrette dressing made with ALDI SimplyNature apple cider vinegar for a crowd-pleasing, colorful springtime salad at your Easter table.
ALDI SimplyNature features nearly 200 everyday products. All SimplyNature products are free of 125 artificial ingredients and are either organic or verified by the Non-GMO Project.
ALDI-fy Your Easter Basket
Aren’t these darling? You can find everything for this Easter basket at ALDI for a limited time while supplies last and it will cost you less than $15!
Aside from the candy we all know kids love, you can fill eggs with Southern Grove Yogurt Covered Raisins and even baby carrots and grapes for little kids to enjoy with the Easter Bunny.
I also like to give my kids experiences as gifts so filling eggs with activities like movie tickets, planting a garden together or a loving note from mom and dad, these types of gifts make everyone happy.

My most memorable meal is the Sunday lunches we used to have after church at my step-great-grandmother’s house. The whole family would gather for a holiday-like meal each week. Her twice baked potatoes were my favorite.
My most memorable meal is the peanut butter toast “strips” that my grandparents made for me as an afterschool snack at their house. They were just bread with peanut butter and the toast cut lengthwise served with a glass of lemonade. Such fond memories of such a simple meal.
There are so many memorable meals, but I will just say that one of the most memorable meals is when I was about 6 or 7 years old and I had stuffed myself so much with mashed potatoes (my favorite food) at Thanksgiving, that I layed and cried on the couch in the formal living room at my grandma’s house! HAHAHAHA! My grandma was so nice about the whole thing, though, and came and comforted me. She’s the most patient woman in the entire world, and I have enjoyed many wonderful meals and conversations with her.
One of my memorable meals was my first thanksgiving as a wife. My husband and I planned this elaborate meal with homemade ravioli, homemade cornbread for the stuffing, and mashed rutabaga. There was a lot of cooking to do which I didn’t plan well for, especially for how long the turkey would take to cook, so we didn’t actually eat until 11pm! I learned a lot that holiday, but at least we had grace for each other and worked together the whole night (it was only us celebrating since we didn’t have family nearby).
My most memborable meals are because of who I shared it with, rather than what was served. I have lots of special memories of family who are no longer with us, but who we think of whenever we sit around the table.
My most memborable meals are the trips we took to my aunt’s home every Christmas. She would put on a spread that looked like it was out of a magazine every year as far back as I can remember. I loved to sit in the kitchen and watch her cook. If not for her I would of never been able to cook a ham to perfection.
Good company is more important to me than what I serve. I always remember the laughs and conversation long after the meal.
