Find Quality Foods at ALDI
Busy parents can conveniently shop and save money on all their weekly must-haves like fresh produce and organics, gluten-free foods, and antibiotic-free meats. You can do it will ALDI private label products, all of which are free from synthetic colors, added trans fats and MSG.
Lunchbox 1: Deli Roll-up
Grab a tortilla and layer it with kids’ favorites like ham and turkey, cheese, cucumbers, and a lightly seasoned mayonnaise – just roll it and cut, and place in the lunch box.
It’s easy and fun to eat with a side of colorful chopped vegetables like red pepper strips and baby carrots.
And add something crunchy whether its pretzels, or you might want to try SimplyNature Organic White Cheddar Puffs, one of the three recent winners of the “Parent Tested Parent Approved 2017 Seal of Approval.”
Check out the simple recipe for these deli roll-ups here.
Lunchbox 2: California Kid Wrap
This is the “California kid wrap.” You get wonderful southwest flavors from chicken, bacon, avocado, and a nice handful of Spring Mix greens. Go ahead and customize this tasty recipe to match your kids preferences. For example, I added tomato for one daughter and cucumbers for another. ALDI has gluten free options if your family needs them. You can find everything from breads to pastas and crackers at ALDI just look for the “live G-free” label.
For sides, I paired this yummy wrap with fresh berries and chopped broccoli crowns.
And for something sweet I added another award winner, SimplyNature Organic chewy granola bars.
The SimplyNature line features nearly 200 everyday products, all of which are free of 125 artificial ingredients, and are either organic or verified by the Non-GMO Project. You can spot organic products by the “organic” seal on the front of packaging.
Lunchbox 3: Tuna Salad in Crab Croissant
Look at these cute little “crabs.” These are actually tuna and apple sandwiches on croissants. Then you make the eyes from an olive you cut in half. They’re a little playful and fun for kids to eat. Plus you make the tuna salad ahead of time and that will save you effort during a busy weeknight.
I pair this yummy sandwich with another super convenient and tasty snack: Kids Organic Fruit Snacks. This is the third award winner from the ALDI SimplyNature line, earning the Parent Tested Parent Approved 2017 seal of approval.
For some additional crunch and nutrients, I include vegetables with a fun “green dip” I made from avocado and arugula.
Check out the recipe for this delicious tuna and apple sandwich here and avocado and arugula dip recipe here.
Enjoy all of this and more with the help of ALDI, where they make it easy picking and putting together the right ingredients and foods that your kids will enjoy.

Kids’ favorite so far this week: apple “sandwich” spread with Nutella! I would LOVE an Aldi gift card because I can get so much bang for my buck! I love it. And they’re expanding my local one–apparently going to have fresh baked breads–woo-hoo! Hoping for one-stop shopping!
These recipes all look delicious and fun! Thank you!
I LOVE Aldi’s! I save more money there than Walmart! Lunch ideas are very basic here, since my son is a very selective eater. Usually it’s a pbj, apple sauce, pretzels and a drink. Oh! And a little note from me. ☺
My local Aldi just opened after an expansion/remodel. I shop there weekly so I really missed it. My tip is using cookie cutters to cut sandwich shapes. It’s always a hit!
I love Aldi! I bought tortillas and will try making a wrap with turkey and a cheese stick for my kids’ lunches! And they love when I pack almonds or pistachios for their snacks 🙂
Aldi’s has been a great gluten-free source for the Celiac disease person in our home.
I would love to win the contest because 1) I have been dying to read your book! And 2) I love Aldi’s. I can get everything I need for such a great price. And I’m in and out of there so quickly! My daughter loves hummus and carrots. I blend some chick peas, garlic and lemon juice. We don’t care for tahini s I leave that out. Also, we love to make mini bagel sandwiches. Please pick me! ??
Aldi is my favorite grocery store! Always great finds and great prices. My kids love their gluten free chicken nuggets and organic juice boxes for their lunches. Also, great for organic fruits and veggies.
We make it a point to stop at the ALDI stores when travelling, as there are currently none in our area — always great value + unique treasures to be found! Recently stocked up on our favorite, very hard to find, hot sauce, Valentina, and I love making rolled omelet sandwiches smothered in it for lunches. A nice twist on the usual! Thanks, and CHEERS.
Shopping Aldi has changed the way I grocery shop, in and out quickly, having spent half what I would at other local grocery stores. And their GF selection/prices beat all the competition! Our favorite lunch items from Aldi are the root chips and the turkey/cheddar sausages. Yummy!
Love Aldi! Those crab sandwiches are too dang cute! I’ll have to do those California chicken wraps as a meal prep both for my lunches and my kiddo. They look really good!
Love a good hummus wrap with sliced carrots, lettuce and sliced almonds with an apple or orange and a cheese stick. I would LOVE to win this Aldi’s contest because they make eating happy and healthy on a budget so easy.
Love wraps! It makes my sandwiches feel fancy.
1) love Aldis curry bowl…throw that in the microwave and add a Tuna packet. Also love. Another lunch box fav is hummus wrap with spinach and chicken nuggets. 2) love To win since I love Aldis…don’t we all? I used them when I work with CMU athletes for cooking demos.
Hummus wraps. Traditional hummus or beet hummus!
My favorite lunchbox idea as of late is that I got this cute little puzzle sandwich cutter and I normally use turkey and swiss in the sandwich. It is such a cute idea and I don’t know – just makes a simple meal seem special. Then, of course, don’t forget some raw veg and fruit (baby carrots and grapes are our go-tos). I would love to win this for my family because we absolutely adore Aldi. Their Fit & Active 45 calorie bread has helped my weightloss journey so much and how can you go wrong with their prices? I think if I were to win this, I would splurge on some of the items that I always see there that would love to try, but sometimes other things seem to come first, sadly. Things that I would love to try are their Elevation protein powder, Simply Nature Almond Butter, spices for the pantry, and their steaks. Thank you for the chance! 🙂
