Online Courses
I am so excited to announce a brand-new online learning program and support group, Self-Care for Diabetes!
I created this program in collaboration with the fabulous Glenys Oyston, intuitive eating dietitian and co-host of one of my favorite podcasts, Dietitians Unplugged.
14 Modules with Dozens of Resources to Learn and Grow!
Our one-of-a-kind Self-Care for Diabetes program includes a three-month membership, which gives you access to 14 modules covering everything from mindful eating and nutrition to sleep, movement, and stress management, talking with your health care providers, bypassing diet fads and misleading diabetes “cure-alls”, and feeling inspired that you can create a happier life with self-compassion and shame resilience.
Follow this link to preview descriptions of all the modules and take a deeper look at our program.
Monthly Group Calls
As part of your membership, you’ll get invitations to live monthly Q/A calls with us, where you can ask us anything and we’ll help you get the solutions you need! As a member, you’ll be able to submit your call questions in advance if you choose and call recordings are added to the member area for review or catch up.
If you think you’d like to meet with us privately, you get a member’s only discount. We have counseling hours available 7 days a week!
Online Community
Because we believe in the power of peer support, we created an online community just for members. This is a place you can post questions and share insights with each other. After all, you are the experts in your experiences and we want to help support positive connections throughout your journey. We are there to moderate and respond as well. Join us today!
Why We Built This… It’s Personal
It’s true that Glenys and I are well-versed in diabetes education and support through a weight-inclusive, anti-diet lens with specialties in intuitive eating, trauma, and anxiety. But we also have personal… family reasons, for making this space.
We have supported family and friends who have been shamed for their diagnosis, their size, and given horrible weight loss advice without screening for eating disorder or trauma history. We knew many people were suffering from weight stigma and healthism in medicine.
We spent a year running monthly live groups with people and it became clear to us that we needed to do more. Our participants craved community and long-term support. We wanted to be able to expand the content and offerings we could provide with a more flexible program to learn on your own time and more time and contact directly with us.
We took our time and built exactly what our group participants asked for. We wrote, recorded, edited, transcribed, and created every page, handout, downloadable, meditation, reflection, and planning tool in this program. And we plan to keep growing it with member feedback along the way.
We are so proud of what we created. We can’t wait to meet you and help you get the support, confidence, and relief you are seeking. We will help you adopt a self-care approach that works for you without following a rigid, unsustainable diet that can do more harm than good.
