Simply put, diets suck the joy out of life (and they don't work for long, if at all!)

  • But what do you do when you stop dieting and still want to make positive changes in your life? (Maybe you even still want to lose weight -- that's a really tough one -- and you might need some help.)
  • What if everything you do feels like a diet?
  • How do you tell people you aren't dieting when everyone else thinks it's normal to diet (or thinks you should)?
  • Where can you find reliable guidance to figure out what the F* you're going to do day in and day out in your new, non-diet life?
  • Where are "your people"? (The folks who are also working to leave the shame and failure of dieting behind).

You need to belong somewhere. To find people who will help lift you up, listen to your "good, bad, and ugly" stories, without judgment or shame, because they've been there too and they want want you want... FREEDOM.

It's time to evolve from dieting.

What is Body Kindness, anyway?

Body Kindness is a practice (also, my book!) based on my 3-part philosophy for well-being that centers around compassion, not shame.

Love. Connect. Care.

  • Make choices from a place of love.
  • Connect to your body (it's wise and tells you what it needs).
  • Fully commit to taking care of yourself.

I believe all bodies are good and people should be free to choose self-care over weight loss at any size!

When you practice Body Kindness, you "spiral up" in energy and mood because (surprise) you really do want to be good to yourself!

Make peace with food, body, and mind--once and for all! - Evelyn Tribole, MS, RD, coauthor of Intuitive Eating and The Intuitive Eating Workbook
Everybody is Wanted and Will be Included: As a business focused on cultivating inclusivity and positive well-being, I affirm all people regardless of their age, weight, race, culture, disabilities, ethnic origin, gender, gender identity, marital status, nationality, religion, sexual orientation, and socioeconomic status.
"In our culture, appearance equals health and that IS a problem."
"In our culture, appearance equals health and that IS a problem."
"We have to reinvent how we look at health and wellness in this country."
"We have to reinvent how we look at health and wellness in this country."
"What am I supposed to do when someone else says 'I'm fat' - put myself down?"
"What am I supposed to do when someone else says 'I'm fat' - put myself down?"
"I'm not going to beat myself up. I'm not going to be my own bully."
"I'm not going to beat myself up. I'm not going to be my own bully."

What is "spiraling up"? A lot of things.

  • It's how you feel the morning after a good night's rest even though work or TV was calling your name.
  • It's the sense of accomplishment, even with a "baby workout," because before you might have skipped it altogether.
  • It's that feeling of freedom "Hell yes, I'll have some pizza! With extra cheese."
  • It's choosing to spend time on interests other than "fixing yourself" because they bring you joy. (and seriously, do you have to spend all your free time on your health?)
  • It's the peace you feel when you understand that all bodies - including yours - deserve good care and respect, relief from perfectionism, judgment, and shame.

The Body Kindness Spiral Up Club is a place to learn and grow, online, in a private, password-protected space with coaching and direction from me and a private Facebook group to connect and engage with me and others.

Why "Spiral Up?"

When you're SPIRALING UP (instead of down) you bring your whole self to the people and things you value most in life and that enhances your well-being.

But let’s be honest. It’s not always easy! Making the decision to be kind to yourself -- mind, body and soul -- is something you have to do every day, with the life you have now and in a culture that constantly tells you "you're doing it wrong".

Battling this and your own inner "thought bullies" (the critic and the perfectionist) is exhausting work. It can make you feel all alone because for whatever reason, you're not allowed to need help. You "should" be able to figure this out on your own. That, my friend, is a crock of sh**.

It's OK to Not Be OK.

(Say that to yourself as many times as you need.)

It is OK to need help. And it's OK to get better. Downward spirals are inevitable. We cannot avoid them, but we can notice when we're spiraling down and choose a meaningful, self-care response.

When you have helpful prompts to reflect, a place to go for support, and a plan to take action, you feel better, day by day, and you get better. You create your own "upward spirals" one choice at a time and you create a better life.

Let's Do This!

You are not alone and you don't have to do this alone. Here's what participants are saying:

"Why we're ditching diets for Body Kindness in 2018"

I’m tired of being at war with my body and shelling out money to companies that care more about keeping a hand in my wallet than they do about my health, in every sense of the term.

-- L.S.  Boston, MA

Because I want to live and model a healthy relationship with my body, food and exercise for my children. I want to break the cycle so they grow up loving and accepting their bodies just the way they are.

-- A.L.  Redondo Beach, CA

I've spent so many years hating, starving and overfilling my body that I forgot how to appreciate everything I do have. I've missed out on so much of my life, I'm so ready to start living!

-- S.P., London, England

I have been on many diets that only work temporarily. I want to focus on more in my life than my weight struggles and feeling bad about my body. I want to spend times doing things that I enjoy and satisfy me.

-- B.F., Chicago, IL

Everyone has a "why" and here's mine:

I fight diet culture by offering a positive way to reframe our approach to health. I teach people to think for themselves about what they want (beyond weight and appearance) and then I help them create it with compassionate self-care.

We become stronger together and bring this new way of being to the people we care about. And the more people who feel resolved to replace body shame with body love, the less of a stronghold diet culture will have on all of us, and the more FREE we will all become, at every size.

Here’s what a typical month will look like when you’re a spiral up club member:

Monthly Email Prompts Collapse

2-4 times a month, you’ll get a short and sweet e-mail from me sharing the "spiral up" prompt I created exclusively for you and the other members. You’ll login to your secure area of my website to see the prompt for journal and reflection, along with more helpful resources.

As much as possible, each month will have a unique theme focused on the art and skill of “spiraling up”. This program will also be dynamic and responsive to your needs. I’ll be asking you to tell me what you really need and you can expect to be pushed in new directions as you learn and grow.

Private Facebook Community Expand

We’ll take these “spiral up” reflections and continue the conversation in our exclusive “Spiral Up Club” on Facebook, where you can ask me and our community anything.

Exclusive Perks and Check-Ins From Me Expand

Throughout the program, you'll get amazing benefits and content I don't share anywhere else. Exclusive videos, Q/As and tips from other experts and “superstars” who are keeping the anti-diet and body positivity space spiraling up!

Body Kindness Book Club - For Members Only Expand

If you want to read or re-read Body Kindness, I'll guide you with optional prompts for each chapter and I'll create a space in the group where you can engage in book club dialogue.

Downloads & Worksheets Expand

Downloadable worksheets and other items to use as you practice Body Kindness. This could be anything from quick and easy recipes to "anytime, anywhere" workouts, time-saving techniques, or skills in setting healthy, non-diet boundaries with others.

Member-Only Discounts & Special Offers Expand

You'll get the best price available on anything I offer in 2018, including 1/1 sessions ($89/ session - a savings of 50%) workshops, retreats, e-courses, and more.

Here's What Members Are Saying About Body Kindness and Spiral Up:

"If you are thinking about or are on the fence about joining Rebecca's Spiral Up Club I really want to encourage you to join. She is genuine and really cares about creating a space where people can learn and practice Body Kindness and Spiraling Up."

"I love the spiral-up message. It’s really helping me not to stay in a negative space and champion the little changes versus focus on shortcomings."

"Thank you, Rebecca, you’re changing lives. You’re helping us women see the beauty we had all along but couldn’t, because social media and fads are always telling us we aren't enough."

"Besides her contagious smile, [Rebecca's] wisdom and pure honesty was exactly what I needed. She is sincerely a genuine soul. I truly believe you are missing out if you haven’t given yourself this wonderful opportunity."

Frequently Asked Questions...

Q: What if I only want to join for a month or two?

A: Right now the program is primarily being offered for a year-long journey. If I've learned one thing from counseling clients for over a decade, it's this: Change takes time. You deserve the time you need to make changes in the "real world." And if you miss anything (vacations, sick, need a break), it will all be there for you behind the secure login.

However, for a limited time, we are offering a 3-month trial membership for $199. At the end of your trial, you can choose to upgrade for access to the full year.

Q: How will the membership portal work? How will I get access to all of the Spiral Up Club materials?

A: The online portal launches on January 17th, and we'll send you an email as soon as it's ready, with information on how you can log in, where to find all of your content and more.

But as soon you register and complete your payment, you'll be sent an email invitation to join us immediately in our private Spiral Up community on Facebook, and you'll start to get access to your free bonuses. That means you can start to Spiral Up today!

Once the portal is open, you'll have your own username and password. As new material is added to the Club, you'll find it all on your dashboard, with easy-to-find links to the videos, downloadable material, a schedule of upcoming calls and much more.

Q: How much is it for the year?

A: The Spiral Up Club's annual fee is $300 upfront.

For a limited time, I'm offering a 3-month trial membership for $199. When you sign up, you'll have immediate and full access to the program, including the bonuses and all of the material that's available to annual members. At the end of your trial, you'll have the option to upgrade for continued access through the year.

I am always willing to talk with you about individual needs, including options for financial difficulties. I've been there and I know some Insiders are facing financial constraints. If you would like to reach out to start that discussion, you can email rebecca@bodykindnessbook.com.

Q: What if I’m not on Facebook?

A: The materials for the core content of the Spiral Up Club will all be available in your private member dashboard. You can follow along with me each week, or sit down every few weeks and go through the reflective prompts. Do it at your pace.

We are using a secret, private Facebook group for the community and regular interaction. This is an optional benefit. If you would like to take part and you're not on Facebook, I recommend that you set up a Facebook profile that is only used to join this group -- you won't be asked to share anything publicly to your feed!

Need help? Email me and I'll get you tech support rebecca@bodykindnessbook.com

Q: What if I can’t make it to some of the live opportunities to engage with Rebecca?

A: I will offer recordings of as many live engagements as I can. For example, Facebook Live videos will be available in our group afterwards.

Q: What if I haven't read the Body Kindness book?

A: While reading Body Kindness before joining the Spiral Up Club is not a requirement, it is highly recommended to at least start to read while you participate in the Spiral Up club to get the most out of this experience.

To help make this easier, I've added a Body Kindness book club optional component to each month of the club, with Facebook group discussion, and I include references to the book for relevant prompts.

Q: Can I want to lose weight and still be in this group?

A: Just being in our diet culture makes people want to lose weight and that can be very tough to resist. Others have been told by someone they should trust like a doctor, coach, or health professional that actively pursuing weight loss is a good idea. Body Kindness and the Spiral Up Club are NOT WEIGHT LOSS PROGRAMS because I believe that true well-being comes from the practice of being good to yourself.

It's very important that you don't see this as "just another diet" because Body Kindness won't take hold for you. So if you're going to do well in this group, you're going to let go of the idea that you are "taking control" of your weight and instead, focus on caregiving and self-compassion, at any size or shape.

Throughout the year, some people may lose weight. Some may not. The point is that we don't control our bodies, we care for them.

Because dieting is so harmful on our emotional health, there is a good chance that some people find conversations about weight to be unhelpful and I want to respect those feelings.

I want this space to be safe and supportive for everyone. But I understand folks will have weight concerns. That's one reason why I'm giving you my email and making offerings for discounts on private counseling with me and other experts I trust so you can get tailored, professional responses to anything going on with your body.

This club is not for those who are ambivalent about Body Kindness. It's to help give those who believe in the idea of Body Kindness a place to keep practicing, to evolve from diets, and to connect with other like-minded people.

Life is still hard, but you know what you stand for and it's easier than all the other suffering you used to face when you work your way out of diet culture.

Q: If I don't sign up now will there be another chance?

A: Right now the program is being offered as a year-long journey at the best rate available with the best bonuses and benefits.

If you want to take advantage from the very beginning, and make 2018 your year of Body Kindness, I hope you'll sign up now. This opportunity is only open for a limited time.

Q: Can I get my friends in on this?

A: That would be awesome! The link is shareable to make it easy to tell your friends about it.

Q: What about the Body Kindness Insiders group already on Facebook and the Body Kindness Podcast?

A:  If you are currently in my free Body Kindness Insiders group, you might be wondering how that will change. Well, interestingly, I have gotten survey feedback and dozens of e-mails from people asking for conversations around the book content.

I plan to keep the Insiders group up and active to engage with Body Kindness readers. Plus, I know the "spiral up" club isn't for everyone and it's not open to join in all year round. So think of this as a "landing stop" for newcomers.

My more in-depth, individual consulting and daily activities will be shifted to the private Spiral Up Facebook group.

Q: What is the refund policy?

Spiral Up is offered as an annual membership, giving you up to a year of membership access and bonuses at an affordable rate. Instead of offering high value for a short time, the program aims to give you the time you need and offer a high value for a longer time.

There is a 15-day risk free grace period from your sign up date, where you can e-mail customer care customer@bodykindnessbook.com and request a full refund minus a $50 administration fee.

1-15 days after sign up, the following refund policy applies:

  • Annual membership paid in full: $300 refund, minus a $50 administration fee ($250 will be returned to you).
  • Annual membership quarterly installments: $90, minus a $50 administration fee ($40 will be returned to you). Recurring payments will be cancelled. NOTE: quarterly installments are no longer offered, but this refund policy applies to anyone who purchased through that option previously.
  • 3-month trial membership: $199 refund, minus a $50 administration fee ($149 will be returned to you).

16-30 days after sign up, the following refund policy applies:

  • Annual membership paid in full: $150 refund, minus a $50 administration fee ($100 will be returned to you). After 30 days, we will no longer be issuing refunds.
  • Annual membership quarterly installments: no refunds will be issued for money already paid. Recurring payments will be cancelled, minus a $50 administration fee.
  • 3-month trial membership: No refunds will be issued.
Q: What if I have a question not answered here?

E-mail me and ask away! rebecca@bodykindnessbook.com

Join us and get answers to your questions and challenges that come up when you are practicing Body Kindness

  • Share the ups and downs of real life in a safe place, with people who can encourage and inspire you (and in turn, a place where you can feel empowered to use your story to help others!).
  • See your “spiral up” prompts all in one private place online. Armed with a few minutes and your journal, you can give yourself what you need to move forward a little bit more.
  • When life gets in the way or you need a little break, pause when you need to and trust that when you come back, you haven’t missed a thing.
  • Get gentle nudges from me to help you continue to make the choice to practice Body Kindness.

I think the best part of the Spiral Up Club is... you! You'll be a part of the community that shares real answers to real questions that people ask every day. (And on the days when it's tough for you? You'll have an incredible community of people to encourage and lift you up.)
